A musical evening entitled “Mugham is our national wealth” was held at the Idrak Lyceum.
The honorary guests of the event were People’s Artist, tar player Elchin Gashimov, Honored Artist, kamanchi performer Elnur Akhmedov, laureates of the “Mugam Television Competition” – Gulzar Farajeva and Khayal Huseynov, performer Yusif Sadikhov, nagara performer Siyavush Kerimov, tar player Mehdi Sadikhzadeh, kamanchi performer Farid Gadirov. The unique musical performances were performed at the event.
In recent years, fundamental work has been carried out aimed at protecting and developing mugham in Azerbaijan.As a result of the support of the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, our national culture and art of mugam, as well as the work carried out in this direction, in 2008, Azerbaijani mugams were included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
The meeting held at our lyceum was aimed at showing our students mugham, which is our national treasure, and preserving the pearl of the world musical treasure for future generations.
